Exercise and Nutrition Sciences Careers

Nutritionist – study and provide advice on dietary habits to encourage the achievement of a healthy lifestyle

Sport Scientists - assist sports people to achieve the best possible sporting performance through by applying knowledge and techniques from the areas of medicine, physiology, biomechanics (the study of human movement), motor control and development, nutrition, psychology and physiotherapy/massage

Health Promotion Officer – work with government and non-government organisations to develop, implement and evaluate physical activity and associated health promotion strategies, campaigns and interventions.

Food Scientists - use laboratory techniques to produce food that is more palatable, nutritious, safe and has a longer shelf life

Nutrition Researcher - conduct scientific research to improve nutritional health

Health Director – direct, coordinate and improve health services within different organisation

Project Coordinator – develop programs for children, adults, special populations

Exercise Physiologist - are 4-year university qualified allied health professionals who specialise in the delivery of exercise, lifestyle and behavioural modification programs for the prevention and management of chronic diseases and injuries. EPs provide physical activity and behaviour change support for clients with conditions such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, osteoporosis, depressions, cancer, arthritis, COPD and many more.

Exercise and Sport Scientists – are concerned with the understanding and enhancement of human performance. They assist sports people to achieve the best possible sporting performance through applying knowledge and techniques from the areas of medicine, physiology, biomechanics (the study of human movement), motor control and development, nutrition, psychology and physiotherapy/massage

Biomechanist – help improve performance using motion analysis techniques

Strength and Conditioning Coach – train athletes in professional sporting teams

Corporate Fitness Manager - deliver creative and dynamic exercise programs and services tailored to an organisation's specific, identified needs

Sports Administration Officer - assist in the administration of grant programs and the gathering of information to increase the understanding of community sport and recreational issues

Recreation Officer - develop, support and coordinate sport and recreation programs and services for the benefit of the community

Cardiac Technologists - provide technical services for the investigation, diagnosis and treatment of heart disease

Sports Development Officer - promote sports and coordinate the participation of young people in sport

Ergonomist – apply the science of equipment design, as for the workplace, intended to maximize productivity by reducing operator fatigue and discomfort

Fitness Centre Manager – manage a fitness centre for the promotion of activities related to physical fitness

Media Liaison Officer - promote their organisation by releasing information in a variety of ways to the media

Health Promotion Officer – work with government and non-government organisations to develop, implement and evaluate physical activity and associated health promotion strategies, campaigns and interventions

Pharmaceutical Sales Representative – sell technologically advanced products to physicians
