Ergonomics

Overview

Ergonomics is the interdisciplinary scientific field concerned with understanding interactions between humans and the systems within which they exist.

Ergonomists seek to apply this knowledge to enhance health and safety, comfort, and productivity.

Why Study Ergonomics at UQ?

The Ergonomics coursework programs featuring:

  • On line delivery.
  • Highly flexible electives drawn from five different faculties of the university.
  • Intensive industry-relevant focus to both coursework and project work.

The program will be offered by the Faculty of Health Sciences, with contributions from staff from four other faculties. The program is designed around a small number of core courses, with the balance of each program selected from a list of electives. Some electives are offers on-line with a number available on campus.

The program is available at three levels, with students able to articulate from the Graduate Certificate to the Graduate Diploma, and the Graduate Diploma to the Masters as they progress through the program.

Entry Requirements

To enter the program, students hold an approved degree; or satisfy the executive dean that, based on the student’s post-secondary study and work experience, the student is suitably qualified for admission.

Application form for domestic & international students

International students may not undertake the program on campus at UQ on a full time basis; they may only study from their home countries and will not be eligible for an Australian student visa. International students are to use the domestic application form and send directly to the School of Human Movement Studies.

Studying Ergonomics on-line

The UQ Erognomics program is unique in that the entire program is offered on-line.  Students have the flexibility to study and where at any time due to the flexibility of the on line resources and ability to contact teaching staff.
