Background
Carrie completed her PhD at the University of Queensland and has obtained the ACSM Clinical Exercise Specialist Certification. Dr Ritchie was responsible for developing the UniFit adult health and fitness program, and was involved in the development and implementation of the Master of Scientific Studies program in Exercise Management. She returned to the University of Queensland in 2000 following a few years in Sydney where she was the Director of Cardiac Rehabilitation at a private medical centre and lectured part-time at the University of Western Sydney.
Research Interests
Participation in physical activity and exercise in primary prevention, rehabilitation and secondary prevention. As coordinator of the postgraduate programs in Clinical Exercise Science, Dr Ritchie is involved in the development, implementation and supervision of physical activity programs for patient populations such as those with pulmonary disease, diabetes and congestive heart failure.
