Background
Peter Hay completed his undergraduate degree in Human Movement Studies at The University of Queensland. Following a period of teaching secondary school Health and Physical Education at a large school west of Brisbane, Peter has returned to UQ to teach and to research in the area of HPE curriculum, assessment and policy. Peter brings with him a breadth of experience in, and knowledge of, assessment and curriculum in the secondary school context, through his considerable involvement in various curriculum and assessment innovations, initiatives and programs at the school and broader system level.
Research Interests
Peter's research interests include:
- the conduct of assessment in PE, and assessment as a systemic educational technology
- the construction and educational implications of student abilities (specifically in PE and in relation to social class)
- HPE curriculum and policy analysis
