Ethics approval process
RESEARCH PROPOSAL / TITLE CHANGE
Changes to the research plan, other than a title change, no longer need to be reported to the Graduate School for approval. However schools are responsible for ensuring that an appropriate research plan is established and agreed on by the candidate, advisory team and school. In cases where there are disputes about the agreed research plan, schools should be able to provide a "paper trail" (hard copy or email) of what was agreed and when. Please complete the form below.

HMS Research Higher Degree confirmation procedures
Please note revised transfer process MPhil to PhD: successful completion of confirmation in the MPhil program constitutes an acceptable basis of admission to provisional PhD candidature. Schools and advisors indicate their support of a transfer by the completion of a School Recommendation on an Application for Admission and Scholarship form. Schools should provide candidates with written details of the applicable locally adapted implementation plans for all milestones in the PhD program before making this recommendation (until local implementation plans are developed and approved for all milestones this information may cover only confirmation requirements). A due date for confirmation in the PhD program should be determined through discussion with the candidate and nominated at Question 8 on this form.
